  1. The Vandalia Festival hosts some of the finest traditional Appalachian musicians for a weekend of great picking. Visitors can enjoy fiddle, banjo, mandolin and guitar contests outside during the day, and concerts in the State Theater in the evenings. The festival pays tribute to West Virginia’s mountain culture and ethnic heritage by showcasing a variety of craftspeople and performers. Craftsman will be selling their wares in the Craft Circle. Many vendors will be on site selling lots of great food. The festival will be held on Memorial Day weekend, May 23-25, 2008 at the Cultural Center and State Capitol grounds in Charleson, WV.
