  1. The Dream of the Herbst family, the Restoring Hope Transplant House in downtown Middleton will be a home away from home for patients who are in the Madison area for organ, bone marrow or other transplants. The Herbst family stayed at a similar home (The Gift of Life Transplant House) in Minnesota when Brian Herbst's father was diagnosed with cancer. Their experience prompted them to take on building a transplant house in the Madison area for adults undergoing medical transplants.
The Transplant House is currently not open to patients or their caregivers. Additional funding is still needed to cover the necessary renovations before the doors can be opened to guests.
