  1. Definitely one of Madison's finest dining establishments. I was truly impressed with the decor and the food. My entire experience was top-notch. Be prepared for the Samba experience, it's not like your typical restaurant.

Everyone orders one of two different options; either you get the salad bar, or you get the salad bar with meats. First off, the salad bar is not just lettuce with toppings. It's a wonderful selection of over 40 items ranging from nuts, cheeses, figs, dates, cold salads, roasted vegetables and much more.

The meal really starts when you're ready for the meat. In the center of your table is a small cylindrical pillar that's red on one end, green on the other. When you arrive at the restaurant the red end is up. When you're ready for meat, turn the green end up. This signals the gauchos to begin meat service. A variety of male servers will stop by your table to offer you several grilled meat options. On most nights there are about eight different meats to choose from and you're free to eat as much as you like. On the night I was there, they had pork sausage, pork loin crusted in parmesan, bacon-wrapped tenderloin, marinated flank steak, top sirloin (my favorite), duck, leg of lamb and rack of lamb. Definitely worth the money and the time, Samba is a great addition to the Madison dining scene.
