  1. The Polar Plunge is an event for the benefit of the Special Olympics during which participants jump into a swimming hole in Lake Monona. Since the event takes place in late February (February 21st, 2009 at Olin Park), the lake is always frozen solid. Only the bravest (craziest) of souls dare jump. For many, sponsoring a "plunger" is the best way to participate in this very Wisconsinesque activity. Posted by: madmax on Feb 02, 2009 (1) (0)
  2. A great reason to jump into a lake in the winter, for those of you just itching to do it. Crazy. Posted by: Anonymous on Jan 11, 2010 (0) (0)
  3. The 2010 Polar Plunge will be at Olin Park on February 20th. If you go to the Special Olympics Wisconsin website you can see the 12 Polar Plunges they have going on in various parts of the state. Get out and be "freezin' for a reason"! Posted by: Anonymous on Dec 15, 2009 (0) (0)
