  1. Highly popular children's television show from the late 1960s featuring Marshall Shapiro as Marshall the Marshal. Program aired on WKOW (Channel 27), where Shapiro continued to work as a sportscaster long after the children's show ended. Shapiro also was the founder of the Nitty Gritty, a famous Madison bar and restaurant.
