  1. Madhatter's used to be in the old University Square complex, but has been gone for years after it was torn down to start the construction of the Lucky Apartments complex, which is a huge monstrosity by comparison (pretty much when contrasted with any buildings in campus area). Madhatter's is now re-opening up today at 328 West Gorham St.

Madhatter's is also the name of the University of Wisconsin men's a cappella group.

  2. Madhatters is a play on the term "mad hatter" or "mad as a hatter", which were used in the hat industry to describe the effects of mercury on hat makers. Top hats were often cured with mercury. The fumes would poison the workers, causing irregular mannerisms, and sometimes even death.

In Madison, Madhatters is a bar that uses a logo of a top hat with legs coming out the bottom. Madhatters is also a University of Wisconsin male a capella group.
