  1. This zoo has been open for ages and has always been free. Located next to Lake Wingra, the zoo features many different animals and has a park and beach nearby. Easily one of the best ways to spend a beautiful day in Madison and not spend a lot of cash. Currently the zoo is under construction but still open to the public.
