  1. Cow Parade Wisconsin was an event held in 2006. Madison and the surrounding communities played host to a herd of 101 artistically created fiberglass cows for nearly five months. The life-size decorative cows were placed around the State Capitol building and at various other locations. When the event was over, the cows were auctioned off and more than $550,000 was raised to benefit charity. The majority of the proceeds went to help build the new American Family Children's Hospital in Madison. Other proceeds went to benefit more than 30 other non-profit organizations.

  2. After these cows were auctioned off on Willow Island at the Alliant Energy Center, many still remain placed all over the city by their buyers.

    Some places to find cows are at the UW Hospital, The Best Western hotel on Old University Ave and Exhibition Hall at the Alliant Energy Center

  3. In 2006 tons of fiberglass cows descended on Madison and the surrounding communities. These cows were sold auctioned off for charity, ultimately raising over $550,000. Each cow was uniquely painted. Madison's Cow Parade was part of the larger international Cow Parade.
