  1. The official mascot of the University of Wisconsin athletic teams. The first Bucky badger mascot was introduced in 1890. (It was a real badger!) Now Bucky is a man in costume. It is considered one of the best mascots ever. Seriously.

    Past Words of the Day

An LA-based chain for a frozen dessert like frozen yogurt, but with a distinct taste. Over the past few years, it has become a craze all over LA (though now NYC, too). Also referred to as crackberry or frozen heroin juice.

Nickname for Atlanta that comes from the generally sticky-hot weather in the city.

Pimento cheese, a popular local snack-food/condiment, often eaten in a sandwich on white bread with mayo.

Another name for a laundromat, taken from Houston's rich "Spanglish" vernacular.

A nickname for New York City. Gotham City is a fictional city used in DC Comics, but it is said to be modeled after NYC.

    Hamburger meat/ground beef

Common phrase that you learn and laugh at in elementary school in WC. Refers to the fact that you can go into town via High Street, then hang a right on Gay Street and exit town to the east side.
