  1. Brocach is Gaelic for "badger den" and Madisonian for "a great little Irish Pub on the Capitol Square." Brocach Irish Pub and Restaurant has a great food, a good selection of beers, and a nice ambiance. On weekends they sometimes have live music, but it's always very low-key.

  2. Best casual restaurant in Madison. The dishes are top notch. I've also heard their whiskey selection one of the finest you'll find outside Dublin. Sidewalk dining is available in the warmer months. Inside is dark and moody, wonderful. Give your eyes a minute to adjust on sunny days. A true Irish pub and a very welcome addition to the food scene. About $15-25 a person.

  3. If you enjoy Guinness beer, this is probably the best place in town to get it. They have the proper taps for it, and the tap lines are clean and well maintained. There are a few outdoor tables, and an upper floor inside for large groups, etc.
