  1. An informal Portuguese conversation session put on by the UW-Madison Department of Spanish and Portuguese. Bate-papo (Portuguese slang for conversation, or literally "shake the jaw") meets every Thursday at the Kollege Klub Bar, known locally as "the KK," from 4:30 to 6:30 during the school year. Bate-papo also meets at the Memorial Union Terrace during the summer starting at 6 PM on Thursdays.

People of different nationalities and different Portuguese skill levels join in on the conversation. The Department negotiates a special price for the Bate-papo group at the KK.
