  1. The Badger Herald is one of two student newspapers at the UW. However, the Herald is much larger with more content and is run completely independent of the UW and thus uses no university funding. Additionally, the Herald holds an AP license unlike the Cardinal. The paper is completely student-run and is most widely read around campus.
