This is a nickname for Ithaca. Ithaca claims to be the birthplace of the American ice cream sundae. A local soda fountain apparently experimented with candied cherries and cherry syrup on top of its ice cream. This Sunday special then caught on and spread across the country in soda fountains and with specialty syrups in grocer's aisles everywhere.

Citywide catastrophe rumored to have been started by the "O'Leary cow." As legend goes, the O'Leary cow kicked over a lantern in the O'Leary farm which started to spread throughout the city. Every building in the city, which was made out of wood then, was either damaged or destroyed with the exception of the Water Tower which stands to this day.

On July 30th, 2009, Harvard professor Robert Louis Gates and Cambridge police officer James Crowley had a private discussion (and some beers) with Barack Obama at the White House after Gates' famous July 16th arrest. This meeting has been called the "Beer Summit" by amused onlookers.

Waunakee's main claim to fame is that there isn't another town in the US with the same name.

Someone with a strong Pittsburgh accent
