  1. Perhaps the most important and influential restauranteur in NYC, Danny Meyer opened Union Square Cafe in 1985 and currently owns 10 different food businesses in Manhattan. His restaurants are very successful and popular. They include: Union Square Cafe (USC), Gramercy Tavern, Tabla, Blue Smoke, Eleven Madison Park, Shake Shack, The Modern, Cafe 2, Terrace 5 and Hudson Yards Catering.
