  1. This is what Arizona Superintendent Tom Horne accuses Tucson's Mexican-American Studies of. Horne has tried for years to eliminate ethnic studies programs from Arizona public schools, and is unabashed in his targeting of the Tucson curriculum. He has put forth a bill that will in effect eliminate ethnic studies courses from public and charter schools throughout the state, with the only exception made for like courses in Native American communities that are protected by federal law. The Arizona Legislature passed the bill, and has been sent to Governor Jan Brewer for approval by next week. Posted by: Anonymous on May 05, 2010 (0) (0)
